Uncommon experience in institutional investing

Wayne M. Ushman, Managing Director    Wayne Ushman is responsible for portfolio strategy and management, bringing to the firm the  knowledge and experience of more than 28 years in the investment management business. A founder in 1991 of the money management firm Worcester Partners, Ltd., Wayne developed customized investment strategies for the firm. Prior to the formation of Worcester Partners, Wayne was Vice President in charge of the Portfolio Management Department for State Mutual Life Assurance Company of America where he developed the investment strategy for the company's $9 billion portfolio of investment assets. Wayne also managed the company's trading and hedging operations.

Wayne earned an MBA from The Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College and was named Chartered Financial Analyst in 1980. Wayne serves as a director of the Jewish Healthcare Center, President of the Worcester Jewish Community Center and Chairman of the Endowment Committe for the Jewish Federation of Central Massachusetts.

Elizabeth ("Lisa") B. Phelps, Director    In addition to assisting with portfolio management, Lisa Phelps is responsible for marketing and client service. Lisa's prior 18 years in the financial services industry were spent at State Mutual/Allmerica FInancial. After working in the securities law area, Lisa developed the company's first investment marketing initiative. She migrated to the pension area where she served as investment advisor to the company's largest institutional pension clients, and ultimately as Vice President of Client Relations. In her final years at Allmerica, Lisa developed a new investment strategy for the variable annuity and life insurance business, and introduced a new asset allocation program for individual investors.

Lisa received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She earned an MA at the State University College of New York at Brockport and did post-graduate work at Brandeis University. Lisa directs Church Life Ministries at a local faith community. She served on the Board of Girls Incorporated of Worcester for more than 10 years and currently is a corporator.
